[Fraud|Popular Frauds|Popular Scams|Scams] [Information|Data] And Prevention [Methods|Techniques]

by admin on Mar.05, 2010, under Uncategorized

Craigslist has exploded in popularity over the last few years. On Craigslist, you can find almost anything you want or need — cars, furniture, clothes, even jobs and personal ads. However, the popularity of Craigslist has also made it home to many people seeking to take advantage, and so you have to watch carefully for frauds.

One very common fraud being used is the lure of a car being sold at a fantastic bargain. The listing may tell the story of how the vehicle is owned by someone in the armed forces and is being shipped home. And how desperately money is needed before its arrival. The unsuspecting buyer sends the cash, only to be left in the lurch. No car ever arrives.

One man was arrested for listing a rental home on Craigslist that he didn’t even own. However, he was able to collect thousands of dollars before he was apprehended. But for the people who had already fallen victim to his scam, the money is gone forever. A little bit of background work and checking would have helped those prospective renters to avoid this scam and save their money.

There are also fraudulent employment offers, and extreme caution should be taken with all of them, especially when they are promising the opportunity to work from home. These offers are almost always nothing more than another scam which requires the prospective employee to pay fees up front for the “job”. However, if you are pursuing a job through Craigslist and the point is reached where there will be a telephone conversation, you can use telephone look up services such as phonelookupagent.com/773/377/ to do some background checking on the caller.

Make sure you do your research when buying anything off of Craigslist. Money should never be sent for anything without a personal review or some type of a legitimate guarantee on the item. Additionally, any response to personal ads should be done with much caution as many romance scammers utilize this site to take advantage of lonely hearts.

There have also been many people who have sent money to pay for an item and the item is never sent. Of course, when this happens, there is no recourse and the money is simply gone. The best way to avoid a scam is to pick up your items yourself. This way a person gets a good look at the item and has it in hand before turning over their money.

Providing free listings for goods and services, Craigslist can be a great resource for many people. However, with scammers ready to use any means to commit fraud it has become an easy means to swindle people. This is why it is important to exercise caution with Craigslist, take the time to do some research and be aware that there are people on it who are only looking to swindle and steal.

This site, as with others, caution that if someone wants money wire transferred to a distance location or sent in money order or cashiers check, be concerned. Meeting the seller personally and buying locally is always the safest way to go. Always trust your gut and never give out personal information. And remember, an offer that sounds too good to be true usually is.

Pay Per Click Fraud

by admin on Nov.29, 2009, under Press Release

PPC is considered to be of the best and most affordable forms of advertising on the search engines. You can use Pay Per Click advertising to bring in targeted traffic and generate leads and sales in your particular niche. You will use this type of advertising to lead traffic to a website landing page in order to obtain immediate sales, or gaining future clients. This is a multi-million dollar industry and will continue to grow. There are however, a few disadvantages and pitfalls. If it were perfect, everyone would be doing it, but as it stands right now, there are are many who don’t.

Are there any cons to PPC?

What Are The Cons?

Let’s start off by first explaining that keywords are bid on by marketers to use in their ads. The Pay Per Click Company will display the ad when somebody enters in the keywords, which will link the browser to the marketers website.

As the user enters the keyword into the search engine, there will be an ad showing up along with other sites in order for the user to choose from. If an advertisement is clicked on, they are taken to the website and the marketer pays for that particular click. The marketer only pays when the ad is clicked on, not just being viewed.

As you pick your Pay Per Click advertisement, be choosy with the companies to go to. There are so many companies to choose from, and as with anything, some have greater advantages than others like some of the smaller companies.

The rationale is the smaller the company, the less advantageous it is. They may not have the needed exposure that larger companies enjoy. You want to put your ad where there will be a lot of exposure allowing your keywords to be in the forefront of those looking for your product type.

There are also some of the Pay Per Click companies that are not equipped to operate like the larger companies are able to. The top runner of all the Pay Per Click companies that dominates the Internet is Google Adwords.

Don’t be one of the many who have lost tons of money on Pay Per Click ad. The reason so many have lost out is because they have not had a clear picture and aware of the complex issues involved.

You need to take the time to learn the bidding process, be creative in your ads, make sure they are relevant to your campaign. Be judicious, this is very vital to your success in anything.

Be sure that you are appealing to your market. You want to make sure you are unique, not dealing with the competition of several hundred marketers using your same keywords.

Just imagine finding out after you have bid for keywords, that there are numerous other Pay Per Click marketers who already have these positions in place. You do not want to end up on the bottom of the search engine pages, and you don’t want to spend all your money trying to outbid your competitors.

There are other methods that work just as well, sometimes if not better, than Pay Per Click.

According to some recent studies, it has been shown that the Pay Per Click conversion rates are actually lower than other methods such as article marketing.

Let’s say for instance you get 50 hits on your landing page through your PPC ads, but you only made one sale. What does this exactly tells you? Do your homework, compare your PPC advertising to your article marketing, how many hits turn into sales.

The biggest disadvantage to Pay Per Click advertising is the time you need to dedicate to learning the complex methods it involves. This is not something you want to jump into without your research and knowledge of how it works. You will end up spending a lot of money with no returns.

Pay Per Click is something that you need to venture into slowly, carefully, with your eyes wide open. Have ready an alternate strategy in place, and test or tweak this out slowly, don’t put all your eggs in just one basket.

You shall be well on your way to successful marketing when you know all your best alternatives. Test it, then do it!

Promoting on Craigslist

by admin on Jun.10, 2009, under Uncategorized

Promoting on Craigslist is encouraged for just about any business offering products or services. Whether these products are offered through ecommerce websites or physical stores, the business owners can see financial gains through promoting on Craigslist. Firstly, unlike other branding opportunities there is very little risk involved in posting on Craigslist. With the exception of job postings and housing postings in specific markets, advertising is free on Craigslist. Users are asked to agree to the terms of service of the community and are expected to follow specific guidelines when posting advertisements but there are no financial obligations to those placing advertisements on Craigslist. This means those who post ads do not have to be concerned with whether or not the ads they place will meet their expectations in terms of sales generated.

Reaching Potential Customers on Craigslist

Another reason why posting advertisements for products or services on Craigslist is so useful is the likelihood of reaching a large audience of potential customers via classified ads. A review of the Craigslist fact sheet reveals pertinent information regarding the number of traffic the website ggets. According to this information Craigslist receives approximately four billion page views each month with ten million people using Craigslist each month. From these statistics it is clear that advertisements placed on Craiglist are likely to receive at least some attention from potential clients.

With numbers of visitors using Craigslist each month the advertising possibilities are limitless, however, there are no guarantee any of these visitors will be interested in your products or services. Like any marketing campaign, your advertisements on Craigslist must be intriguing, informative and in a location where you will reach your target audience.

Finding Your Target Audience on Craigslist

We’ve already reviewed the number of visitors using Craigslist each month but the key to taking advantage of these numbers is to target your branding in a way aimed at reaching your target audience as opposed to a wide audience of individuals who have no specific interest in your products or services. It is much more worthwhile to reach a small audience of those with a keen interest in your products or services than to reach a much larger audience of those who are not interested. Those who have an interest in your products or services are your target audience.

The key to getting to your target audience on Craigslist is putting your advertisement in the most appropriate locations. Craigslist has a specific section for businesses to advertise their services. This section is broken down into a number of categories. Those who are in the business of computer repair would be wise to place their brandment in the computer section as opposed to the automotive section because individuals looking for computer help will naturally migrate to the computer section. It may sometimes be appropriate to place an advertisement in more than one section. This is acceptable as long as it does not cross the line to spamming the section.

If there is not a specific section for the products or services offered by your business there are a couple of options. Business owners can place an advertisement in the section for small business advertisements where it might be found by those doing a search in this section. Alternately the business owner can contact Craigslist to suggest the addition of a new category. They may accept it if they trust this category.

The Difference between Promoting and Spamming

Branding on Craigslist is one kind but spamming is quite another. Placing an advertisement in an appropriate section of Craigslist is acceptable; however, putting the same advertisement in almost every section of Craigslist websites for number of different geographical regions is considered spam. Spam is ineffective for number of reasons. First of all potential customers who see a particular advertisement in a number of different locations are likely to recognize the spamming techniques and be less inclined to patronize this business. Also, if Craigslist discovers the practice of spamming they may delete all of the postings and could potentially ban advertisements from the individual in the future.

Here’s Where To Find The Best Digital Printing Services

by admin on Jun.09, 2009, under Uncategorized

Ever since the dawn of history, printing services has contributed greatly in shaping the world that everybody is living in today. Without printing, nobody could have read The Bible, nobody could have known about different inventions, different technologies and without printing, you may never know what is happening all across the globe, about news and everything under the sun. And today, a printing company continues to make that contribution. In today’s world, it is not enough to print something and send it out for everybody to read. It must have the best layout, the most unique printout and of course, something that will keep any reader put his attention to the pages of anything from books, to magazines to advertising banners and on all reading materials.

So that an entity, a company or an individual can disseminate all the thing things they want to share from business cards, letterheads, brochures, flyers, catalogs and newsletters, they need to find the best of all printing services especially in their area. But the questions is, where can one find a printer that can give an impressive output for everything? Bear in mind that there is not only dozens of printing services but hundreds of them and it would be very difficult for anybody to search for a printing company one by one doing the traditional drive and/or leg approach.

Well, one best thing that you can do to find a digital printing company or a traditional offset printing service is to find a directory or a listing of the best printers in the whole of the U.S.A. and if you do just that, you can find the one that you are looking for whether near or within your area or something which you think can deliver the best and impressive printing output for your brochures, banners to use for advertisements, calling cards, newsletters, flyers, greeting cards and all that stuff.
