Earning a Nice Living from Articles
by admin on Apr.02, 2010, under Uncategorized
If you can either write articles or have the promotion and marketing knowledge to publicize articles that others write, becoming an affiliate for several companies may be a great way for you to generate a good income right from your own home. You can do this by receiving part of the revenue off of sales that the company gets from people who “click through” from your website via the company’s links that are placed on your pages.
Since you will be marketing a product or a service, you will need a good sales page and website content to get your readers to become interested in the product, convince them that they cannot live without the product, and to keep them coming back to your website time and time again for more recommendations and your useful content, which will get them clicking on your links once again. Although many affiliate companies only give you money off of the first sale you make from each customer, you have the option of promoting a good range of companies so that you can still make a profit off of your returning customers.
If you cannot write this kind of content of your own, there are many ways to pick up free or paid content to place on your affiliate website. There are many reasons why paying for such marketing articles would be to your advantage. First, you will be able to tell the writer exactly what you want, what product you are trying to sell, and what direction they can go in to keep your readers interested and informed. On the other hand, when you search for free content, you are limited to what is already out there. Secondly, you will own the copyright to this content. That means that no one else can reuse it without your consent. If you opt for free content, you will be sharing that content with an unknown amount of other affiliate websites, plus the original author will be able to place their byline at the bottom of the article which could result in them stealing your traffic.
There are many products that have nice affiliate commission rates for those who know how to pre-sell their product and deliver click through customers who are ready to buy by using articles submitted in article directories. As long as you choose to promote a product or service that can be very useful to a wide variety of people, then pre-selling your chosen company may not be that hard at all. The key in this situation may likely be getting those customers to your website so that they have a chance to see your recommendations and click on your affiliate links.
Article directories are great for link building

Search all over Google, and most terms are highly competitive to get on page 1 of Google. You really need to be on the first page on some keywords to get any decent traffic to your site. While it might be desireable to have 20 or 30 keywords all in the top 10, its usually just not possible. It comes down to time managment and the fact that certain of the keywords you choose are certainly going to be more difficult than others. Finally, once you achieve a decent ranking in a few terms, you cannot just rest and leave it - you must constantly work to maintain your ranking as back links age over time and go away or carry less impact.
One great way to maintain your links over time is to use drip distribution to an article directory, or even many targeted blogs. The key is to have this part set on auto pilot so you do not have to remember to do it. Of course you will still have to write the articles to be posted, but that is usually much easier than the actual posting to the web. One thing many people do once their site is ranked on a few terms is to outsource the web content writing work to others. Although your website contents should all be written by yourself, once you are far enough along with ranking for a few terms it makes sense to outsource some of the work.
Once you have your articles setup to post over time, you should think about methods to get additional links from other sources over time as well. A great way to get another source of links is Yahoo answers, you can search for your topic and help people by answering their questions. The key here is to actually add value so your answer is chosen as the winner - do not just give a generic answer with your link inside, that is not useful and will probably be deleted. Of course, in addition to Yahoo answers, there a re many, many other methods to get more links. All you are looking for is a diverse base of links to maintain and hopefully grow your ranking position in the search engines.

Search all over Google, and most terms are highly competitive to get on page 1 of Google. Without being on the first page on at least a few good keywords, you will not get much traffic to your site. While it might be desireable to have 20 or 30 keywords all in the top 10, its usually just not possible. Its mostly a time sink and some of the keywords are bound to be more difficult. Lastly, you should always remember that once you get the ranking, it must be maintained - so the more stuff you have the more maintenance that is required to keep that ranking.
An excellent way to build links and maintain them over time is to distribute articles to a article directory or niche blogs to keep new links coming back to your site. The key is to have this part set on auto pilot so you do not have to remember to do it. Of course you will still have to write the articles to be posted, but that is usually much easier than the actual posting to the web. One aspect which is often outsourced once a site is ranked is the web content writing for the drip distribution. While I believe the majority of your original content on your site and used for links should be written by yourself, there is a need for outsourcing to assist once you are far enough along.

A great way to get another source of links is Yahoo answers, you can search for your topic and help people by answering their questions. The real key to making it work is to answer questions in which you really have some good knowledge to share, meaning there is a high degree of chance your answer will be chosen as the top answer. The method most use for keyword ranking is wrong

Many people see the potential of the web to generate income on auto pilot . The stories sound very simple to implement, but these guys often(as in most of the time) leave out a major portion of their success. They do not tell anyone how many web sites they have in total to make those earnings, nor do they share how many people they outsource work through or actually work for them directly to make it happen. Think about it – people showing evidence they make 30k, 40k in a single month on the web are NOT doing that with 1 or 2 sites, or by placing a few ads, or by building a few links a day. They very often have web sites numbering in the hundreds that they built up with a team of people helping them.
Given that this is occurring, what are new marketers supposed to do, as everyone has to start somewhere. What needs to be done is to not have unrealistic expectations of earnings and make efficient use of your time. I am going to share with you a method to get your traffic jump started and ranked on multiple keywords. You can use an article directory to build links, social bookmarking, blogs, forum posting, whatever you are best at to make the links to your site with this method
This can be started by using the Google keywords tool, or any other software tool of your choice Type in your main keyword and then find related keywords automatically. You want a total list of about 200 or more keywords so you can sort them by totally monthly searches. Sift through this list and pick about 5 top keywords with about 2500-5000 searches per month, and then pick an additional 10 with 1000 or less searches per month, ideally with 4 words in the keyword (long tail). The normal method most people use is to pick the highest traffic focused keywords and try to build those up with back links. This is the opposite of the way it works in reality. While high traffic keywords would be nice, they are often very hard to rank for and take a ton of time and effort. The real secret is to work on all the long tail keywords first and completely ignore the higher traffic ones. While it seems counter intuitive to do this, it will set your site up for big traffic. Targeting what might be considered sub optimal keywords are much easier to rank for as you should target a top 20 ranking in all of them. Once you have ranked all these, you should see some decent traffic numbers. Now is when you start on the top 4 or 5 from your list earlier. Ranking for these harder names will be much easier now that you have done the other work, as Google will give your site an automatic head start based on the rankings of the other words. You will need to do probably half the work as you would if you had not done the other keywords first.

Write Articles To Build Up Traffic
by admin on Jul.25, 2009, under Uncategorized
Any website owner who starts down the path of internet marketing will soon discover how many “guru’s” are out there all claiming some secret trick to boost your search engine rankings. The reality is there are a few things to really pay attention to, but most of it really comes down to hard work. Depending on what keywords you are trying to rank with, you can get good results in as little as 1 week, or it may take months of hard work.
The biggest factor in your traffic is always the quantity and quality of the links to your site - sure the website needs to be created correctly, with all the SEO stuff done as well. The actual content on that site is important, as is the page ranking of that site by Google. Two way links used to work well, but anymore Google just ignores them because of the prevalence of link farms and buying links etc.
The easiest way to get links is through article marketing and publishing on an article directory. This is not the path of the least work, it is the best path to get good, long term results. The setup is simple:
- Do some keyword research on your topic. Choose between two and five starting keywords you are going to focus on in the beginning. You will need to make sure the words get decent search volume per day, but do not go after far too generic terms because it will just take too much time and effort to actually rank for them.
- Plan on writing 10 - 12 articles for each keyword of 300-400 words each, using 1 of the keywords with links to your site in each article, with no more than 3 links per article total. You will need to use the actual keyword in the link text, do not use a URL address like http://.
- Publish 4 of the articles on a major article directory that has good ranking such as Ezine Articles or ArticlesBase. These have human reviewers so it will take a bit of time to get your article published. Luckily they do not expect it to be the first time its published, so while you are waiting there you can post it elsewhere.
- Make sure you get some software that helps to spin the article content and links. Simply put, spinning the article will substitute words and sentences in a random fashion for you so that you can get several variations on an article very easily. Auto-rewriting software should be off limits, the results are usually terrible, and they will not help you at all. Usually it reads like garbage and that will not help your rankings. If you spin an article right, you can easilly get 10-20 different reading articles from a single article, enough to not worry about duplicate content out there (and possible penalties).
- The next step is to mass distribute your articles to sites looking for great content. This step can always be done manually for free of course, or you can look to purchase some tools that will speed things way up. I usually choose to pay some money in the savings of time. There are simply so many things that go into improving rankings that you need a trade off at times so that you can get it all done. You want to make sure you spread out the distribution - its unnatural for any site to go from no links to 500 links in 1 day - what is more natural is 0 to 10 to 18 to 25 to 40 … over many weeks keep building the level up.
- You will need to start tracking your ranking level on the few keywords you have picked out. After you have built up approximately 300+ links back to your site, you should start to see ranking movement higher on some of them. Some keywords that are not as competitive, much less, and of course, some it might take thousands.Your goal on most keywords should be to get into the top 20 at least in ranking, number 1 is nice but sometimes the effort needed to keep and hold it is not worth it.
- In addition to the article work, you can also use social media accounts to link to each of the articles you publish AND also to your main web site. You should make a hub pages site and a squidoo lens about each article and link to your site. If you feel its warranted, you can additionally publish a press release about your website launch. If you are going to make a press release, just make sure you have something that is worth reporting.
Sites all want niche content on them to improve the quality score. Most want articles about their site topic to keep the viewer on the site longer and to get better search enging ranking. This is exactly why article marketing works - you get links on disribution sites, webmasters get to search for content to add to their site from what is published.
