What Are The MLM Basics For Marketing Online Tip 5 - Your Blog
This is the 5th article in the series ‘what are the MLM basics for marketing online. Today we are discussing something which is central to all your efforts on the internet, your Blog. The Blog has become a main part of any company’s marketing efforts on the internet today. Looking at the basic things you need in order to market your MLM business on the internet, the blog is completely central.
First of all, your blog needs to be self-hosted. This means that it is yours and you pay a company to host it. If you own a business, you need a self-hosted blog: a free one is only ok for using to blog about your hobbies. You may feel you do not want to pay, but just remember, if the company you get your free blog from don’t like your content, they can just close you down! This cannot occur with a self-hosted blog.
My blog is a self-hosted Wordpress blog. At first it seemed too complicated, but I soon had it up and running! However there is lots of help and support around, and generally someone will be able to help you with any problems. Keeping your blog fresh is easy, because there are hundreds of free themes to choose from!
Do not let your blog get stagnant. It needs regular fresh content in the form of articles and tips. You can upload videos and use it to let your customers and prospects know what is going on in the MLM world.
You should have a page telling your story of how you got into Network Marketing and what you have done in your life so far. To build up trust, you could have a page on any other interests you have or have photos of your family having fun. Many blogs have a photo of the owner, so they are instantly recognised. This will help with branding yourself.
One thing you should definitely have on your blog is an opt-in form to capture a prospects name, email and possibly telephone number. You could offer some free training or information to persuade them to opt in. Whatever articles and videos or other content you send out onto the internet, always make sure if has your blog address on it. This way, if someone enjoys your article and wants to know more about you, they can click on the link to your blog and maybe from there become a lead in your business.
Make it easy for someone to get in touch with you! Without lots of links to your blog, it is just like an island in the middle of the internet. Ensure your blog URL is plastered everywhere you go!

MLM Online - Basic Tip No 4 - Autoresponders
by admin on Mar.09, 2010, under Uncategorized
Here is #4 of the Basics For Marketing MLM Online. Today we are looking at Autoresponders. If, like me a few months ago, you do not have the foggiest idea what an Autoresponder is, then it is pretty much what it says! It responds automatically to any requests you get for more information on your business. When you first start out online, and do not know the basics for marketing online, you may not think you need an autoresponder. However, when you start to get overwhelmed with requests for information, you definitely will!
You would expect to pay about £20 a month for a decent autoresponder. Much less than that and you would need to check them out fully to find out what you are being offered. Free autoresponders are also available, but do tend to advertise themselves more than they do you.
An autoresponder is where you begin building your list. As soon as someone ‘opts-in’ to your list, they begin receiving messages from your autoresponder. You could send out a weekly newsletter, or product reviews.Your autoresponder will be completely automatic and will work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. So if somebody from the other side of the world completes their contact details whilst you are asleep, your autoresponder will instantly respond to them, making sure your business online never closes!
You could write your own emails, if you feel you have mastered the art of copywriting. Otherwise your autoresponder will probably give you some templates or help with constructing some. Obviously, if you are involved in a system as I am, your emails will already be written for you. That certainly saves you time! You can, of course, personalise these emails yourself if you want to.
You can also send out extra ‘broadcasts’ whenever you want from your autoresponder. If some new information comes to light which you want your list to know about, or you want to give them details of a webinar that is coming up, these broadcasts can be very useful. It is very simple to do, once you have done a broadcast once or twice. It is possible to actually get an’opt-in’ form generator in your autoresponder set up.
An autoresponder is great for building up your credibility to your list. A prospect generally enters their contact details because you are offering them something they want, such as a free training or more information. Once they have that, then continue to get mail from you, they begin to trust you and recognise your name. It will not happen immediately, but once they have received several messages from you which contain information or offers which are of value to them.
What your autoresponder does best is to make your leads into customers over a period of time. A definite neccesity for online marketing, in my opinion!
