Rip Off Reports For So Called Wholesalers Are Rife
by admin on May.12, 2010, under Uncategorized
I was doing some research on the internet the other day and I came across the Rip Off Report which is a consumer site warning others of the pitfalls of doing business with different companies.
As I’d been looking into some different wholesaler distributors, I thought I would just have a look and see if there was anything there about them which might help me gauge whether they were a good company or not.
Obviously, because there are so many wholesale distributors out there lots of the ones that I looked up didn’t come up with anything, but I was really surprised to see the number of reports about one major company that supplies to a lot of eBay sellers.
What was most surprising was that I thought this was a authentic drop ship wholesaler - or at least that was what all the information I read had said – but reading through this I found out that they were really just a hub for the transactions to be conducted through. In more traditional business models, this would be something that people are more likely to avoid. However, when it comes to internet retailing, this is actually something that is highly sought after.
Of course that’s not a bad thing that it’s an easy place to get lots of products, but I didn’t realize just how high the markups were on the products that they were offering. I read that in some cases the markup is as high as 15% on the price, which when you are looking at the difference between wholesaling and retailing, really is the profit margin.
It just made me think twice about the best wholesaler sources and I will certainly do more research to find out where I can get the best prices for the products that I will be selling.
What Is Wholesaling And How Can It Make You A Profit?
by admin on Apr.17, 2010, under Uncategorized
In our current economic climate, plenty of people are trying to save as much money as they can. With no end to this recession in sight, we have to make sure that we all make the right moves. We’ve been taught to look for the best deal, and it’s something that we all automatically do every time we make any significant purchase, whether it is something so big and important as a new car, or a ubiquitous everyday necessity such as a microwave or a toaster.
The problem is amplified when you are someone who is trying to start a business and you want to locate the cheapest prices for the products that you want to sell. This is how wholesaler sources comes into play. Wholesaling is the process of buying products direct from the manufacturer or a distributor who is acting on the manufacturer’s behalf.
By acquiring goods at wholesaleprices you can save as much as 50-70% off the retail price, which is a great way to start generating a profit. Wholesaler suppliers are the same places that your local retail stores, or even a business competitor, will be purchasing their products. While they make a profit on the goods they are selling, these are much lower than retail markup and you may also find that if you are making bulk buys, the prices you will pay will be lowered even further.
By buying cheaper products from wholesaler suppliers which are of the same high quality that you would expect in other retail establishments, you will be able to increase your margins, or offer a discounted strategy which turns over more stock and adds value to your bottom line. In just a few steps, you can make your dreams of success into a very solid reality.
Wholesale Middlemen Markups Are Killing Profits
by admin on Apr.17, 2010, under Uncategorized
I have been doing some research into good wholesale distributors for a while now, and I’m continually surprised to hear how people are getting caught out with the simplest things. As entrepreneurs and business owners, it is important to remember to maintain your business acumen despite your sheer enthusiasm.
For years, one of the biggest problems has been businesses who claim to be wholesale suppliers but are actually just middlemen jacking the price up and passing on goods.
What was most surprising for me was that I found out that some of the biggest players are in wholesale distributing are actually intermediaries. I was reading the other day about a lady who had been using one service for over a year and as her business grew she decided to look into other avenues to obtain goods.
She said she was really surprise to find out that the item she had been buying through this wholesale supplier was actually available for less straight from the drop ship source.
Because of the monthly subscription fee she had paid to use this site, she had believed that the prices she was getting were the lowest available and so was surprise to find out that they carried a 10-15% markup.
I realize that this is a situation that many people must be in, and it is really killing their profits. So in order to avoid the middlemen trap, it’s important to find a wholesaler or drop shipper who is providing you with the best possible price for your item.
By going directly to a wholesale distributor, or liquidator, rather than third party broker, you will maintain higher profit levels and see more business success. With one small step, not only do your save a lot of effort, but you also maximize your profits and increase the profitability for your business.

The Difference Between Buying Wholesale And Buying Discount
by admin on Apr.16, 2010, under Uncategorized
If you are new to the world of business, or selling products, you may be wondering what the difference between buying wholesale and buying at discount is. These two terms are often and easily confused. There is a reason for this, one that I will explain shortly.
To understand the concept it is important to understand that all retailers find their items from somewhere, and in general, they will markup the cost of that product 100%. That means if they buy an item for $10, they will be selling it in their store for $20.
When a retail store has a sale, they will discount between 20-40% of the selling price, meaning that the minimum they will sell the product for will be $12, so they are still making a profit from the price that the item was purchased at. The only exception to this rule is when there is a liquidation sale, or a store is trying to shift hard to sell stock, in order to get some return on their investment.
As you can see, even if you are buying at discount from a retail store, it is still possible to buy goods at a cheaper price by using wholesaler sources.
This means that if you are someone who is finds items to resell in places like eBay or Craigslist, at markets or in classified ads, if you are not buying your goods from a wholesale supplier, you are not getting the best deal to maximize your profit.
Additionally, when you purchase in bulk from a wholesaler source, they are very likely to give you further discount based on quantity, giving you added margin for profit. It is easy to believe that the longer you and your wholesaler source are in business together, the more and more successful both of you will be.
